The Problem With Having A Blood Disorder.

Published by crystalmaroo at 11:43 am under Uncategorized Edit This

I was born with a rare blood disorder called Severe Chronic Congenital Neutropenia. Basically I have a weak immune system, but I take medicine to help that out.

Now the problem with having this disorder and having 4 kids is that I worry constantly about my kids when they get sick with a temperature.

The reason I worry is because when I get a temperature I have to call my dr. right away and he has me come in to make sure I don’t have some crazy illness.

So when my children get a temp. I now tend to worry more. Thinking they have something wrong. Granted Boo and Dirt both have bronchitis and are on antibiotics. But still I worry.

I do not want my kids to spend nights in hospitals, I want them healthy, so when they start to get the sniffles I hope that it won’t t turn into something serious or a fever. Usually it is nothing but a cold, but this last week we have been hit with walking pneumonia and bronchitis. Boo is now on an inhaler as well.

I like to think I am not the type to over worry normally. However, I do think that because of my blood disorder I tend to worry more when my children get sick.
